YARN WITH A STORY TO TELL
Cilla is a lovely little mixed breed ewe with a cheeky personality and a pout to match! She is a mix of Gotland, Greyface Dartmoor and Corriedale parentage, which means she has both lustre, density and length to her her fleece. Her fleece grows both out and down, making her look very stout but underneath she's still actually quite a small sheep. Cilla's wool is also densely crimped , and this lovely oatmeal 4 ply yarn reflects that crimping with the twist on the fibres.
Our high welfare artisan yarn is from a small mixed flock of sheep at our livestock sanctuary in Nottinghamshire UK. The boys were originally called The Hooligans because of their boisterous behaviour and unerring knack of seeking out trouble, and although the girls are generally better behaved, they also have their moments. And so Hooligan Yarns was born!
Yarn sales go directly to support our charity Manor Farm Charitable Trust which offers lifelong sanctuary for livestock in need. UK Registered Charity No. 1173761.
